New visa bill to empower the US economy

Visa system of US immigration has been altered to encourage new talent. Colorado Union Senior Senator, Michael Bennet has launched a new visa act which is predicted as the economy booster. The new scheme is proposed to create ample jobs as part of achieving economic growth. The bill aims at STEM degree holders. Generally, these holders are remote county students. They move out to other nations after their completion of graduation in American Universities. It leads to shortage of workers for technical jobs in US. The ouster of STEM education is targeted by new visa bill. Bennet conveyed the goals of new bill as foreign students should stay in US and US native students must be encouraged to step into STEM education. The plan of Senate bill aims to ensure long term workforce development and empowering the nation economy. The plan is actually intended to create more number of jobs. The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Visa bill attempts to retain the students of US universities in US and influences the native students to take up the studies. According to the statistics of 2009, nearly two thirds of people completed their graduation in American Universities and went back to their native countries or to other countries where the visa rules are flexible. The new bill will introduce a new visa category under US immigration embassy which assists foreigners to retain US for further studies after completion of their graduation in American Universities. The bill is planned as follows:

  • Revenue which collected from visa costs is shifted into mutual funds.
  • The funds will be used for offering scholarships for students who came for studies with low income.
  • This activity is functioned as STEM grant program for several colleges and universities. Some percentage of funds will be used for former training of students.
Many people believe that this bill will achieve US economy improvement by creating more number of jobs. It would also help US to hold its leadership in the field of science and technology.
