Less border checks for children migrating to UK may lead to increased risks
UK has recently introduced a new law which aims at less border checks for children who come to the country but according to the officials of UK Borders the move can benefit the child traffickers and could be dreadful for children. The new immigration aims at simplifying the border controls of UK.
The Border Officials of UK said that the nation could be at risk if children below the age of 18 are not checked while crossing the Border. Instructions regarding the removal of border checks for children were issued by UK Home Secretary Theresa May. Because immigration staff at different airports were facing problems in handling long queues.
Theresa May accused Brodie Clark, UK Border Force for wrong doing. Clark was suspended by his boss for giving permission beyond the instructions by the ministers regarding UK’s new passport checks. Even UK immigration minister Damian Green denied having given such authority to Mr. Clark. Labor Home Secretary Jack Straw said that Clark is a good officer and blamed Mr. May for leveling baseless allegations against Clark.
Ed Miliband, a Labor leader has also blamed May for the UK Border mess. But UK PM David Cameron reiterate that he backed May’s decision adding that it was not compromising the security of the nation in any way.
