UK immigration department has extended the number of countries to hold TB screening test before issuing UK visa. Earlier, this rule was applicable to 15 nations now extended to 67 countries that include India. As a justification to it, Britain’s High Commissioner, James Bevan expressed that 75% of Indian applicants include tourists, entrepreneurs and visitors seeking diverse UK visas for the stay of six months and 25% are students. The decision of holding TB screening test before visa issue will not affect the Indians since vast application flood have been identified by UK. Tuberculosis is a global disease. Previously, UK immigration department had this screening test rule under eligibility and applied for less number of countries like Pakistan, etc. The rule has now changed by extending number of countries for TB screening test. The UK immigration authority has also notified that the cost of screening will be fair for immigrants from India and will not affect the immigrants in any way.
