Border agency of UK has been indicted for detaining immigrant children at Heathrow airport which was disgraceful to concerned government. According to official statements of Heathrow IMB (Independent Monitoring Board), it is apparent that children with all ages have been detained at the airport for some immigration purposes. It also revealed that children were often kept in a small room in which even minimal needs were not provided. The room in which children were kept was not spacious. They had no place to sleep. Sometimes they had to share adult spaces over many hours even if they don’t know them. The survey report of IMB revealed that many such decisive situations happened at same airport and over 3000 immigrants in 2011 counting adults and children were kept for 12 hours in nasty room. IMB is an agency which was introduced five years back by UK government to inspect the safe stay of immigrants at non-residential locations amid of immigration process. The agency affirmed after this dreadful situation that each immigrant has to be provided with a flexible accommodation for stay especially for families which embraces children. It is the predominant responsibility of UKBA which should make potential arrangements for detained families at nearby residential such as hotels along with transportation facility. The report produced by IMB treated this as humiliating and disgraceful condition. Need for safe stay of children is identified by IMB and suggests providing a friendlier accommodation for children. Last year, reliance had taken over the responsibility of detained staff administration at Heathrow and failed in providing flexible accommodation and transportation. As a response to this severe situation, UK force representative pointed few concerns associated with accommodation offered by BAA. To this, BAA spokesperson responded that they have not got any such issues regarding immigrants’ accommodation by stressing UK representative statements with sarcasm.
