Canada initiates new ‘super visa’ for overseas families
High authorities of Canada have declared that a new multiple entry program known as “super visa” valid for 2 years will be introduced to allow parents and grandparents settle in Canada.
It was observed from long time that the waiting time for sponsorship of family class applications had increased heavily which were 7 or more years.
Jason Kenny, Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multi Culturalism while declaring the move said, “Without taking action, those times will continue to grow, and that is unacceptable.” He also said, “Action must be taken to cut the backlog, reduce the wait times, and ensure that the parents and grandparents program is sustainable over the long run.”
The high authorities said, “The new multiple entry “Parent and Grandparent Visa” will come into effect from 1st December and will be valid for 10 years. It will be issued within 8 weeks of the application filed and the applicants will also be allowed to remain in Canada for 24 months before needing seek visa renewal.
