Australia modifies visas for Indian students studying in Australia

Australia has made the student visa process for international students swifter and less complicated. Peter Varghese, Australian High Commissioner to India, welcomed the modifications suggested. He said the modifications in visa requirements are worth it and the changes may improve the competitiveness of Australian Education Sector in the world.

The newly modified student visas will be beneficial for students who get enrolled for bachelor and higher degree courses.  They will have to fulfill very less financial and documentary needs for the visa.  For students who apply for vocational courses, though their evaluation will be at higher levels still the financial requirement will be less.

Post study work visa for 2-4 years will also be included in the modifications especially for university graduates based on their duration of the study.

Modifications to the Australian student visa will be implemented by the end of 2011, and entire changes may be finalized in the 1st half of 2012.
