A new immigration group involving local service providers, health care representatives, business people and politicians was launched in Canada last week. This group is responsible for welcoming and supporting immigrants & Refugees in Canada. This Immigration Partnership Council will be assisting immigrants and refugees to settle their life in Canada. For last two years the group was struggling to bring in fresh ideas which help them in assisting new immigrants and refugees to become part of the community. Finally, the group officially launched their immigration council in Kitchener, Ontario. The new immigration & partnership council is one among the 45 immigration councils across the province. The total budget of this council is $680,000 for coming 2 years. Arran Rowles, Immigration Partnership Council Manager noted that the local immigration partnership is important because it connects new foreign immigrants with the Waterloo Region Immigrant Employment Network through free seminars and networking events and by offering internship and mentoring programs. According to Kitchener Waterloo, Multi cultural Centre the population of immigrants and refugees is 22 % in Canada and it is expected to increase to 30 % by 2031. A meeting will be commenced on 6 February to discuss how to best welcome immigrants and refugees to Canada followed by a forum on March 26 about how immigrants can take part in civic leadership.
