The Work Never Stopped!

Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

This was very famously stated by Sigmund Freud. While this has different interpretations in many fields but the base meaning lies that sometimes you don’t have to look very deeply for answers or meanings, some things are just obvious and you can go by the face value!

This stands very apt right now because due to the current scenario many people have got the notion that immigration has come to a halt. You cannot start your procedure or the embassies and the countries are not processing the visas. Well while these are just statements and may be reasons and answers people are looking to give but the face value is that all the countries are conducting regular draws.

If you have followed our news regularly, you will know that Canada has conducted Express Entry draws regularly, in fact the last ones were very frequently, and the provincial nominations are also going as it is. Immigration experts see no change in the nominations happening because the same flow and process was followed by Canada before this also.

When it comes to other countries like Australia, the skill select draws are again happening as per scheduled timelines. Australia generally conducts skill select draws on 11th of every month. But from 2020 the frequency is set from 10th to 15th for now. January’s skill select draw was conducted on 10th, February on 11th and March on 13th i.e. within the scheduled timelines.

Germany in fact took this time to make relaxations for overseas professionals and introduced Skilled Immigration Act. Now, it´s easier for skilled workers with vocational, non-academic training from non-EU countries to migrate to Germany in order to work.

Our process expert, P Thirthingoth says, ‘initially when we started making our process team work from home, we thought it might not give required output as we were not sure how the countries are going to deal, especially the visa departments, since this issue is a global one. But we have been working from home since more than 20 days now and we don’t find any change in the process or related aspects of filling application; which actually is a very good sign.’

Our documentation specialist, B Krishna says that since the applicants are now having ample time to arrange documents and can give more attention on the procedure, the application submissions are done at somewhat higher rate than earlier.

‘There is absolutely no difference seen in the application submission procedure, irrespective of the country and stage of the application’ he further added.

He was able to give a gist of daily flow of applications happening since 22 March 2020 to 27 March 2020.

So above are just basic estimates of final applications submitted, the other procedures like ECA applications, skill assessments etc. are also done in parallel.

Hence, aspirants who are still willing to migrate abroad and are concerned on current situations can be assured that the applications are being filed at normal pace; in fact you have more time to arrange for everything now.
