After US and Canada, India appeals UK to cut down visa norms

India had a discussion with US and Canada regarding the visa issues and now it’s going to have a discussion with UK about the problems faced by Indian applicants in getting visas for UK. Anand Sharma, Commerce and Industry Minister will have a meeting with Kenneth Clarke, UK Secretary of State for Justice.  Sharma will talk about immigration measures proposed by UK which may have bad consequences on both India and UK. Sharma feels that, UK’s immigration policies may restrict the immigration of skilled Indian migrants to UK which will ultimately result in reduced profits for UK.  It will have a negative impact on the increasing trade and economic partnership between both nations. Ministers of both countries may also discuss about the development of India-European Bilateral Trade and Investment agreement (BTIA).
