Simplified EU visa Norms if India agrees on Free -trade agreement

If India shows interest and agrees to open the Indian Market as a part of the free-trade agreement then European Union is ready to simplify the visa rules for Indian professionals. An official of the Commerce Department said that all the 27 member countries of Europe have agreed upon the simplification of the visa norms if government of India allows the entry to legal and accountancy pros. Chief Negotiators from both the countries will meet next month at Brussels to finalize the agreement which will be scheduled and signed during the India-EU summit in February. The EU is India’s largest regional trading partner.  For 2010-11 the trade between both the nations accounted some $90 billion of trade. European countries are also ready to do away with the contentious “labour market test” and take on individual commitment visas for various categories of Indian professionals. Arpita Mukherjee, professor, Icrier said, “The labor market test is an inhibiting clause that disincentivises hiring of foreign professional.” Normally it has been found that EU countries grant the work permits to foreign countries only if they lack the required skills in their local labour market.  The EU employers first advertise the job locally for some specific time and in that duration if they do not get any worker then they turn up for overseas workers. The official also said that several exceptions to the labour market test have been made for various highly skilled sectors for some countries.  Due to the visa relaxation norms Indian IT sector is at great benefit.  Structural engineers, medical support services, architects, accountants and teachers can also benefit through this move. The diagram above shows what India has to do and what the EU union will do for simplification of the visa norms.   Stay connected with us on: https://www.facebook.com/#!/opulentuz http://twitter.com/#!/Opulentuz For any queries and clarifications visit our forum: http://www.immigrationforums.opulentuz.com
