Canada’s effort for easy settlement of Immigrants

Most of the overseas people are migrating to Canada to experience the widespread culture of the country. Keeping this in mind, the International Experience Canada (IEC) program is designed, under which the migrants will be allowed to work in Canada and enjoy their tour as well. International Experience Canada (IEC) will permit the migrants between the ages of 18-35 to tour, work and stay in Canada for a short duration. The benefit of this scheme is that migrants can gain work experience and enjoy their tour as well. Under this Scheme, Canada will allow more than 35,000 migrants every year to tour and work in order to overcome their tour expenses. Few countries like Australia, Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom have already agreed with the IEC scheme. These countries will be allowed to make their citizens participate in this program. Canada has pre-specified the number of citizens who can participate from each country. For example: at present 6,500 Japanese, 4,200 Germans and 450 Spanish citizens are permitted to join this program. Benefits of IEC scheme:

  • Overseas workers with Canadian work experience as specialized professionals can apply for Canadian Experience Class and be Permanent Canadian citizens
  • Overseas workers who have a minimum 1 year exp of skilled work in Quebec will be eligible for Canadian PR in the same category
  •  Overseas workers with Canadian work experience might be eligible for PR via the number of Provincial Nominee Programs.
Two main classes of IEC program are:
  • Working Holidays: Under this applicants can tour as well as gain work experience in Canada. They have the choice of working for as many as employers they want throughout the visa permit which is for maximum of 1year.
  • Young Professionals: This is proposed for youngsters, mainly graduates of a post-secondary educational institution who want to enhance their CVs by obtaining work experience. They should have a pre-approved agreement of service in Canada. Unlike the previous category, the young professionals need to have a visa ahead of coming to Canada.
