The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC) has introduced a new interactive web tool for prospective immigrants and visitors which will help them determine if they are eligible to get a Canadian visa. This web tool is named as Come to Canada Wizard and will assist the foreign nationals to determine if they can immigrate to Canada or not. While announcing the creation of Wizard, Jason Kenney, Canada's Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism said, “We understand that our application processes can be complicated, but this new tool is a significant service improvement. The Wizard will make it easier for potential immigrants and visitors to navigate the application process." Kenney also added that he hopes this Wizard will simplify the application process and reduce the number of calls to Canada Immigration’s Call Centre. How the Wizard works? Come to Canada Wizard will have a series of drop down questions where the applicant can click appropriate answers. The applicant needs to respond to questions about age, education, work experience, marital status and information about the accompanying dependents; if any. Other series of questions confirm whether the applicant has lived in Canada before, has any Canadian work experience, etc. In case the applicant wants to work or study in Canada, the Wizard confirms if he/she has a confirmed job offer or place of study. Also, the applicants have to rate their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills in what they consider to be their primary Canadian language. Once all the questions are answered, the applicant is told whether or not he/she is eligible to come to Canada as an immigrant or a visitor.
