    Who can apply for Canada Federal Skilled Trade Worker Program?

    To apply for Canada Federal Skilled Trade Worker Program, the candidate must:

    • Have plans to reside outside the Quebec
    • Satisfy the language requirements of English or French
    • Have minimum two years of full-time work experience in a skilled trade in the last five years before filing an application
    • Satisfy the job requirements for skilled trade as specified in the National Occupational Classification (NOC), including cases that require a certificate of qualification, and
    • Hold a full-time job offer for minimum one year or a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a provincial or territorial authority of Canada

    Work Experience Criteria

    The following are the few skilled trades that are eligible for the Federal Skilled Trades Program:

    • Major Group 72, which consists of electrical, industrial and construction trades
    • Major Group 73 includes maintenance and equipment operation trades
    • Major Group 82 consisting of supervisors and technical jobs in agriculture, natural resources and related production
    • Major Group 92 includes manufacturing, utilities and processing supervisors and central control, operators
    • Minor Group 632 consisting of chefs and cooks
    • Minor Group 633, butchers and bakers

    The major NOC groups are further categorised into various occupations, and Canada Federal Skilled Trade Worker Program applicants must prove that they have done their duties that are mentioned in the lead statement of all occupational descriptions in the NOC.

    In addition to these, applicants must satisfy language and other admissible requirements to immigrate to Canada successfully under Canada Federal Skilled Trade Worker Program.
