Ontario’s Express Entry HCP Stream: List of Targeted Occupations by NOC Codes
It is the time to check targeted occupations list for Express Entry Immigration System. Ontario’s HCP clearly mentioned that only qualified candidates will get Notifications of Interest (NOIs) in the news updated on June 28 this year. They limited it to candidates with ICT work experience and who got qualified for Ontario’s Express Entry HCP Stream. Finally, OINP released the list they targeted for selection.
If we go deeper into this, it is clear that Ontario selected ICT workers by searching Express Entry Pool under Express Entry-aligned HCP stream which is a part of the OINP.
In general, Ontario considers candidates who got 400 or more Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. Now, the recent update lets candidates scoring less than 400 points and having work experience in the following ICT occupations receive Notification of Interest (NOIs). OINP set to consider the below-mentioned occupations without a minimum of 400 points.
NOC 0131: Telecommunication Carriers Managers
NOC 0213: Computer and Information Systems Managers
NOC 2133: Electrical and Electronics Engineers
NOC 2147: Computer Engineers (Except Software Engineers and Designers)
NOC 2171: Information Systems Analysts and Consultants
NOC 2172: Database Analysts and Data Administrators
NOC 2173: Software Engineers and Designers
NOC 2174: Computer Programmers and Interactive Media Developers
NOC 2175: Web Designers and Developers
NOC 2241: Electrical and Electronics Engineering Technologists and Technicians
NOC 2281: Computer Network Technicians
NOC 2282: User Support Technicians
NOC 2283: Systems Testing Technicians
NOC 5224: Broadcast Technicians
NOC 5241: Graphic Designers and Illustrators
It is fine that OINP lowered the minimum CRS score but the candidates should meet other criteria to get NOIs.
HCP Eligibility Criteria to Get NOIs
1. A one-year work experience under the Federal Skilled Workers Program in last five years or Canadian Experience Class in past three years.
2. Candidate must possess a Canadian Bachelor’s degree or above.
3. Need to have a minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark 7 in English or in the French language.
4. Should have a minimum level of either savings or income.
5. Candidates must also have an intention to reside in Ontario province for a long term.
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program also noted that receiving an NOIs is not enough for a candidate to get nominated under one of the Express Entry streams in Ontario. The officials suggested candidates review requirements and visit website for provincial and federal criteria information.
