Western Australia Updated Skilled Occupation List - WASMOL

Department of Training and Workforce Development of  Western Australia has come up with an updated Skilled Occupation List WASMOL - Western Australia Skilled Migration Occupation List. While we see major occupations removed, the updated list mainly concentrates on candidates from the Health Sector. These occupations are said to be in highest demand in Western Australia

WASMOL previously had occupations categorised under Schedule 1 and Schedule 2. The system is now simplified and we have now one list targeting on those occupations that are considered as priority for the states to meet the skill demands, specialist in nature and have compelling evidence of unmet demands.

The applicants should check the WASMOL for their availability of occupation to be invited to apply for the state nomination. Evidence of minimum of one year of experience in said occupations is a must to apply for the same.

The Skilled occupation list is for the below nominated categories.

  • Skilled nominated visa - subclass 190 – Permanent residence visa
  • Skilled regional visa – subclass 489 – Temporary visa (for up to 4 years)

The applicants are encouraged to check the status/updates for their nominated occupations as the changes are expected to be frequent from Available – Restricted to Closed

Follow these simple steps to apply

  • Have your profile submitted in EOI indicating your interest of nomination from WA
  • Once nominated, Score atleast 60 points in the DIBP Points test (5 points - Skilled Nominated visa or 10 points - Skilled Regional (provisional) visa)
  • Have an evidence of skills assessment for suitable nominated occupation
  • A proof to demonstrate English language requirements
  • Evidence of work – 1 yr minimum for Australian Experience or 3 yrs minimum for overseas work experience

Once selected, apply for the visa within 60 days from the time, you receive the ITA – Invitation to Apply
